Curriculum

GateCity Global School for Frontier Missions is a 6-month residential training program based in Atlanta, GA with the goal of producing effective, pioneer missionaries who will serve among unreached people groups. The curriculum incorporates classroom training covering theology, methodology of missions, organization specific values, and leadership development. Along with the classroom instruction, all students will participate in a minimum of twenty four hours of weekly prayer and worship at GateCity House of Prayer. GateCity Global School is broken into two phases.

PHASE 1

Understanding the Missions Movement

Phase 1 occurs during months 1-3 of the GateCity Global School in the context of 24/7 prayer. This time prepares young leaders with the knowledge and skills needed to be effective while working among unreached people groups. Students receive training in prayer, intimacy with God, missions, the forerunner message, evangelism, leadership, poverty, and culture. Also, you will have opportunities to cultivate healthy team dynamics.

Students will also take a course during this time that will equip them to raise a support team to fund their Phase 2 Outreach cost (Estimate $6,000). Students who finish the GateCity Global School and decide they’d like to join our international staff long-term will raise a long-term support team for their income.

Students spend 20 hours a week in the prayer room. Some of this is devotional prayer time and some will be focused on intercession. The other 20+ hours are utilized for classroom training, team building, and evangelism.

PHASE 2

International Outreach

Phase 2 occurs during months 3-6 of training. The first month is for raising support for a 10 week (2 month) outreach. This outreach location is given during the first three month training period. We focus on sending teams to unreached areas in the 10/40 window.

Outreach

Outreach is one of the most vital components of GateCity Global School. Our goal is to train young pioneers for a long-term commitment to frontier missions, and the only way to know if they're ready for that is through a short-term immersion amongst the unreached. The classroom, and even the prayer room, can never take the place of actually getting on a plane and spending two months in another country where they will be surrounded every day by people who do not know Jesus. The locations for outreach include cities in North Africa, the Horn of Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, and East Asia. Students will pray and worship for four hours every day, and then spend the remainder of their time strengthening small bands of local believers, praying for the sick, and preaching the Gospel to the lost.

This is a transformational time that truly marks many people for a lifetime committed to seeing the name of Jesus made famous in the nations.
